Lineke and me, the parents of Joris, have already a long time ties in the North West of Tanzania. This is one of the poorest area’s in the world with lots of Aids
and HIV infected people. Also many children die because of Malaria and T.B.
In the area are sisters working in home-care and education.
Last year we succeeded to repair the school of Mugana and give new furniture. Already a long time we try to help the sisters themselves. These African sisters live in a house what is cracking down . Snakes come through the holes in the walls and water is not coming via a good water-system but via the roof with heavy rains in a few buckets and sometimes also on the tables. Toilets and showers are not working well.
This project will be subsidized by NCDO Dutch government with 26.000 euro. The other 26.000 we are planning to find in the street or with festivals. We had a nice festival on Queen’s day on 30th of April in Witmarsum.
At the moment we have 12.000 euro. So we are on our way. At the festival will be lots of food and drinks ,supplied by De Welstand.
We also try to sell that weekend African arts, so do not forget your purse.
If you want to read more about our projects in Tanzania, please look at www.dewelstand.nl . If you look on de Welstand you find the location and accommodation. If you look at Tanzania, you will find more about the projects in Mugana (Kagera). Greetings and see you at Bolly-Woodstock .

Dear Duindam and all friends in Holland. Thank you for your good hearts and supports you have given to our people so far including your support to the poor girls of Hekima Sec. School. Thank you for the furniture, computers and for paying the school fees for orphan students,I assure you all are put in good uses. I welcome you and your friends do not miss your chance of visiting our school when you have time. Come and see, is the gospel quotation. Yo're welcome. Sr. Esther Buberwa, headmistress Hekima.

I thank you also for what you have done to these people. But, I doubt if what you have explained is really true because Iknow the school and the sisters there. In addition, the area is not so poor the way you have explained. Iknow it very well. The Bahaya people are among the most developed people in Tanzania in terms of culture and molarity. I was once in their villages, people are living in good houses although some of them still live in traditional houses which are also well built and attractive. I think we should live a culture of degrading people even when we do good things to them. God cannot reward you with such uncivilized comments. Our actions should be shaped by the gospel ethics; you cannot help the poor and then you blow a trumpet to let others know and praise you. Do your part and ask others to help if possible but not explaining as if you are the one who made all things work for those people. Those who are being helped should never allow to be degraded in order to get money and support. You should be strong and whoever seems to degrade you should go back with his or her support. You cannot degrade or sell your dignity for money or other material things.
    Have a nice Christmas.
    Thomas Oudenhoven.

I am sorry, I made a gramatical mistake. It is not "we should live a culture of... but WE SHOULD LEAVE A CULTURE OF..."
    Thank you and behave yourself.

This is absurd. You cannot humiliate human beings like that simply because you are helping them financially. This is a western thing, all Americans like that and most of the Europeans. I am surprised by the words of Sr. Esther Buberwa thanking them despite their exaggeratins. Be serious, do not let down your people because of MONEY.

what you are saying Thomas Oudenhoven is true. Africans should not allow the whites to belittle them even if they are bing helped. Being helped or being poor does not make you less human.Do not intertain this western behavior of securing fame through the poor. It is archaic and unchristian.
    Joseph Manning.

I completely agree witih Thomas Oudenhoven. These have been songs of the whites in order to degrade Africans and other non western countries. In most cases the facilitators gain more than the so called beneficiaries. There many are cases where the so called help never reached the concerned groups. While the aid had been collected with same language.

I also know most of the regions in Tanzania. Kagera is one of the developed regions including Arusha and Moshi.
Fund raisers are making the story too negative so that they can get money. The entire western culture is set to believe that African will not live without western help. The westerners made the rest of the world poor in the first place and they are still doing that.
Stop looking for fame by fabricating negative stories. Helping each other is morally great thing. But when you help and afterwards you nagete the beneficiaries that is not help.
    thanks.

    John Adrian.
